Its all about Alwin’s stories, 57 years of stories inside Porsche Motorsport.
Starting in 1966 with the 718 Spider, and multiple iterations of the 917, 935, 956, 962, 919 and 963 in 2023, Alwin has led Porsche Motorsport North America through many of its most significant milestones. Starting as a technician, and ultimately as CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America from 1990 to 2002, Alwin has been instrumental in shaping Porsche’s motorsport presence in the United States. Today Alwin is a consultant to Porsche Motorsport and an intricate member of the team.
Alwin’s place in Porsche Motorsport history particularly in North America, is so far-reaching and intricately entwined it is impossible to measure his impact on Porsche, and sports car racing as a whole. Alwin has an endless supply of stories about the cars and the people during his decades working almost exclusively with Porsche. Inside Porsche Motorsport Alwin is known as “The Godfather” and “the Original”, in 1975 he co-founded “Andial”.
