Frank Lloyd Wright Laurel Highlands Tour

Welcome to the Frank Lloyd Wright Tour with ARPCA! We are sorry it took so long to open registration, but we had many moving parts and a few that changed on us. On this tour, 40 people will get to enjoy the beauty and unique architectual style of Frank Lloyd Wright and enjoy a short casual driving tour of the rolling hills of the Laurel Highlands.
We will start at approximately 8:15 am with a tour (the drive to Fallingwater - eastern Pittsburgh location to be announced) on Saturday morning, then proceed to Fallingwater for our tours of the home. We will not be able to take photos inside, but I made a deal with the weatherman (who didn't want to be identified) that we will have good weather so we can take them outside of the home. After our tour, we will head over to the Hillman Education Center to have a box lunch prepared by Fallingwater and then promptly leave for our Laurel Highlands Road tour (just under 2 hours) on our way to Polymath Park.
If you aren't familiar with Polymath Park, it is a retreat that was initially designed with 2 of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian-style homes, but has expanded with 2 actual Frank Lloyd Wright-built homes, the Duncan and the Mantyla, that have been relocated and restored to this serene setting. As the vision grew, dining was added with an outstanding restaurant, TreeTops, and more so with the recent addition and expansion of the treehouse-style outdoor dining.
As tour limitations inhibited a full group tour, it was decided that 22 people could have the Wright Collection tour experience. As there are 18 people that are able to actually spend the night in the homes, those members will tour the homes after hours, so each will have the opportunity to enjoy the homes.
Remember, you must register in advance to participate in the FLW Tour. We are limited to 40 total people due to the requirements of Fallingwater and Polymath Park.
When registering, you are able to purchase a tour for up to two people. You will have a choice of 2 packages, and then identify if you want to be at the Patio for dinner, TreeTops Restaurant or not enjoy dinner. The Patio dining will enjoy their new wood-fired gourmet personal pan pizzas (you will be able to choose which, ahead of the tour) a salad and drink (non-alcoholic, but there is a bar that will provide other exciting libations!). For Treetops dining choice, please check Polymath's website for the dinner menu packages. The TreeTops is a bit more expensive than the Patio, but from personal experience, it is well worth it! Quickly confirm your TreeTops reservations before selecting this package, as space is limited and in demand. Those arrangements must be made through the Open Table app on your phones.

Saturday, May 31st
ARPCA Fallingwater Guided Architectural Tour - As our schedule had changed, this will be the normal Fallingwater architectural tour. We will have a guided tour through the house that provides information regarding the construction and history of the beautiful Kaufmann's Bear Run home, followed by a boxed lunch at the Hillman Education Center.
ARPCA Laurel Highlands Driving Tour - The ARPCA Driving Tour (Casual drive) will start from Fallingwater immediately after the group luncheon, driving through the scenic Laurel Highlands and finishing at Polymath Park.
ARPCA Polymath Park – As noted above, there will be a tour of the Wright Collection homes for the 22 people not spending the night, as well as, the options for dinner; on the Patio, or TreeTops Restaurant or no dinner. There will be the opportunity for those 18 who are spending the night to tour the homes in the evening after dinner.

- There are additional Polymath Park in-depth tours that are available on a first come/first serve basis (at individual's cost) that must be arranged through the Fallingwater Ticket Website, if desired.

• Overnight Tour $265 Cost per person - includes Fallingwater Tour, Fallingwater Lunch, Laurel Highlands Road Tour (Casual), Frank Lloyd Wright Collection Tour at Polymath Park. Dinner choices are:

- Polymath Park TreeTops Dinner, ONE dinner at the TreeTops Restaurant-see special arrangments below (Registration closes May 24th) or
- No Dinner (Registration closes May 24th)
** Please email me if you are staying overnight and have another couple that you want to have in your house. There are 3 houses that sleep 4 and one home that sleeps 6. If you don't, we'll automatically assign you to a home.
